The Difference Between Pleated Bag Filters and Standard Bag Filters

Between both pleated bag filters and standard bag filters there are differences in usage, material and performance. The cloth area of pleated bag filters is up to three times larger, eliminating the need to purchase a larger bag house for the filter bag and allowing the bag house to collect more contaminants. You will also find that pleated bag filters do not use a filter cage due to their one-piece design. Pleated filters in comparison to standard filter bags also use caps at the bottom to prevent leakage. Additionally, pleated bag filters are utilized at the “surface” level, whereas conventional bag filters are utilized as a depth filter solution. A depth filter, as opposed to a bag filter (a surface filter), uses different materials to capture any contaminant throughout the entire medium of the filter media.
